The King Is Dead

In honor of my maiden name, Presley, I'd like to pause for a moment of quiet, yet hip-swaying retrospection. This is the anniversary of The King's death.
Confession time: I'm not really a fan. I work with a woman
who has an Elvis shrine, and actually asks her husband to wear an Elvis mask during their, well, "together time." Now, THAT'S a fan. I just mostly try to get into clubs on days like today for free with my ID (I use Presley as my middle name, now that I'm married). I tried this trick at Graceland, too... and the response has always been the same. "That's very nice, Ms. Presley. $12 please." Hmph. See if I let 'em lick my blue suedes.

I had a very disturbing visual about the mask there for a moment.....
I'm with WalkenDude. Yikes! My mom used to let me stay up late and watch Elvis movies on TV when I was a little girl. I loved him! I thought that falling out in the bathroom was a little rough. But, what the hell!
I was never a fan of Elvis Presley, either, but I admire what he did for the early rock and roll movement.

I LOVE early Elvis!....and like much of his later work as well...but I wouldn't begin to lump myself w/the hardcore fan/worshipper group of E-fans...
That mask thing is REALLY scary! Wouldn't it be nice if you could get in places using your name.

I remember being in Oklahoma City on 16 August 1977... A lot of women were very upset that week........
I feel a sudden urge to eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich..
I thought Elvis had a real good voice, then I saw him and wondered why he did that with his lip - sort of like my sister.

Good name to have Sadzi! Better than Donner. hehe That's a good one when getting a table for a group. Especially when you get paged in a bar waiting for a table. Donner Party, your table is ready. I've also used the Bush party, Chairman Mao, but Presley, that would be awesome.
