The Red Cross has started a new ad campaign, starring my nephew, Alex. It's hard to describe this guy's first couple of years (he's 2 1/2 now), but I know I've never prayed so fervently, and asked others to do the same, during the first couple of years, when his life was in danger almost daily.
Can you read the fine print? It says: "By the time Alex Presley was five months old, he had received five units of life-saving blood during two operations."
It's because of people like you giving blood that Alex is with us today.

Wow! That's great that he's in the campaign AND that he had the opportunity to be!
Am so glad that I donate.
Stories like this one that should make everyone that's able get down and give the old "armful".
Cheers to you, and to Alex
very moving.
What a beautiful little boy. So glad those prayers were answered.
Thanks for sharing this! Makes me think about priorities and what is really important.
How is Alex now?
It's always good to be reminded that the little things you can do mean so much more to others
wow, thankyou for sharing. I have given blood several times in the past, but last time they had real problems with it. They couldnt find a vein, and it was very painful - kind of put me off the whole experience. However this post has made me rethink my descision. What I went through is a fraction what the patients went through, and all worth it in the end
It's amazing how such a small effort on someone's part--by giving blood--can be such a huge thing for a little boy.
Makes you see the world in a different way.
I'm glad that he got what he needed.
wow!
makes ya think.
